How did you become an entrepreneur?
I became an entrepreneur because of my passion for photography, my willingness to take a risk, and for the chance to help people.
What is the nature of your business? What kind of product/service to you provide?
I am a wedding photographer with a love of fun, fresh, artistic and classic imagery. I provide professional and personalized service before and after the “big” day. I love getting to know the couple so that I can customize the experience and provide a unique photo session with the best customer service possible. I sell custom leather albums and a variety of other merchandise.
Why do you love what you do?
I love what I do because weddings are one of the best days of people’s lives, and I really love being a part of that. I work well under pressure, and I thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a recent bride, I know how stressful it can be on the wedding day. I love being able to lower the bride’s stress by being prepared. I constantly challenge myself to do better because I really care about the final product. I love making people feel good, I love capturing moments the bride and groom might not see or remember, and I love making beautiful moments last forever. The most rewarding jobs result in new friendships.
How long have you been in business for yourself?
I have been a freelance photographer for 8 years, and I have been building my wedding photography business for the past 1-2 years.
How do you attract clients?
My favorite way to attract clients is by word of mouth, because that means somebody is talking about my work. My other avenues for attracting clients include a combination of social networking, volunteering for a good cause, and web marketing (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace, Blog, The Gathering Guide.)
